An interactive map at vancouver2010.com shows the route the torch will travel in the region, with approximate stop times along the way.

The torch arrives in Surrey on Monday, Feb. 8 and continues through White Rock and North Delta on Tuesday, Feb. 9 before leaving for New Westminster, Richmond and, on Friday, Feb. 12, the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics at BC Place Stadium.

In Surrey, 175 people will carry the torch through the city over the two days, including five nominated"Community" torchbearers: Olympic swimmer Brittany Reimer of Cloverdale, Newton-raised pro baseball player Adam Loewen, Global television meteorologist Mark Madryga, Chief Supt. Fraser MacRae of Surrey
RCMP and Queen Elizabeth Secondary grad Monty Raisinghani.

The full list of names of torchbearers won't be made public until 48 to 36 hours before their scheduled 300-metre turn with the flame. Across Canada, some 12,000 people will carry the metre-long white torch on the epic, 45,000-kilometre journey of the Olympic flame to Vancouver. In gaps between communities along the route, the flame is carried in a special lantern in a vehicle, with police escort.
