SURREY/CKNW- Despite charges being laid in the murder of slain Surrey teacher,
Manjit Panghali, police still aren't willing to say much more about the
course of their investigation over the past five-months or what
prompted the arrest of the pregnant victim's husband and brother
in-law.
Despite the publicity of the story and horrific nature of the crime, it still took nearly half a year for charges to be laid in Panghali's death.
Delta Police Constable, Sharlene Brooks won't say what, if any, break in the case may have prompted the arrests of Mukhtiar and Sukhvinder Panghali. Nor will she say if it had anything to do with a potential witness sought back in January, "We did meet with the witness and spoke with him at length, but to speak to any details on that interaction would be inappropriate for me."
As for future charges, Brooks says police don't anticipate any further arrests.
Both Mukhtiar Panghali and his brother Sukhvinder have made their first court appearance and will remain in custody until at least March 22nd.
