A Surrey man accused of being an accessory to the murder of his
sister-in-law fought with Mounties and attempted to kick out the doors
and windows of a police cruiser last Wednesday, police allege.
“He attempted to evade police and when he was arrested he was very violent in the back of the cruiser,” said Richmond RCMP spokesman Peter Thiessen.
Thiessen said Sukhvinder Singh Panghali was spotted by police at the Vancouver International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
He said when police approached Panghali to discuss his bail condition not to be near the airport he tried to get away and when he was captured he was violent.
He was arrested for being drunk in a public place and released the next day.
However, at The Province’s deadline no charges had been laid.
