The Province

More than 1,000 mourners packed a Delta funeral home early this morning to say farewell to four of six people killed when a truck crashed into a pre-wedding procession on a dark rural Abbotsford road last weekend.

"It's surreal. I still can't believe it. To go from a wedding to this," said Jas Singh, a close friend of one of the crash victims, gesturing at the portico of the Riverside Funeral Home where grief-stricken friends and family members huddled together for support on a sombre September morning.

The funeral was for Satinder Kaur Mahil, 50, an Abbotsford resident and aunt of the bride; Bhupinder Singh Kaler, 26, and his sister Rubal Kaur Gill, 21, both from Ontario; and 13-year old Damanpreet Kang of Toronto.
