The Burnaby Now

A young woman has gone missing during a shopping trip at Metropolis at Metrotown Saturday night.

A family member last saw 21-year-old Jaswinder Kaur Battu around 7:30 p.m., but they got separated.
They looked for her and contacted mall officials, who sent a message out over the public address system, with no results.

"A mall page was created," said Artie Chumpol, public and community relations manager with Metropolis at Metrotown.

"And our security guards did search the property for her."
Chumpol noted they have a different protocol if an adult goes missing, compared to what happens if a child goes missing. They have security cameras, but Chumpol didn't want to go into too much detail about what was on them. However, she did say that it didn't help with looking for Battu.
