SOUTH VANCOUVER - The body of a 22-year-old Vancouver man who had been missing since March 28 has been found in the Fraser River.Police do not suspect foul play in the death of Ranbir Singh Bains, said a Vancouver Police Department media release issued last Friday.

Bains was found on the night of Thursday, May 8 near the Knight Street Bridge. Initial reports had said he was believed to have been in the area of the bridge when he went missing
Bains, who attended Simon Fraser University, was really looking forward to a trip to Las Vegas with friends this month as his reward for making it through exams at the University.
"The plane tickets were booked. The suites were booked," his older brother Mike said earlier.
"He had something to look forward to. He was even going to go shopping this week in Bellingham to pick up some new clothes for the trip."

That, among other things, had left Bains's family baffled about the fate of the 22-year-old economics student, who slipped out of the family's South Vancouver home in the wee hours of March 28 and drove away without a word of explanation.
Police tracked Bains's cellphone to the south area of the bridge, which spans the Fraser River and Mitchell Island. His family found his car at the north end of the bridge after they began a search during the weekend that included plastering the Vancouver region with posters featuring his image.
Mike Bains was haunted by his last contacts with his brother. There was a text message he declined to describe. And there was a voicemail that was at once puzzling and disturbing.
"He was crossing the bridge," a downcast Mike Bains said. "He was very vague. He sounded very distraught. He was just saying he loved us. It was hard to make out what he was saying at times because the wind was pretty fierce and there was traffic in the background."
Until he vanished, Ranbir Bains was apparently going through a routine day.
"He just went to the gym, went to Subway, got some food, did some homework. My mom saw him go to bed at 9:30. At that point, everyone thought he went to sleep," Mike Bains said.
"No one has seen him since."
They did hear from him, though - the cryptic voicemail his brother received after 2 a.m. on March 28.
"I spoke to all his friends. He was not hanging out with any new people.
There wasn't a girlfriend in the picture that we know of," Mike Bains said. "It's not like he was spiralling into depression."
He even had the Las Vegas trip to look forward to after completing exams.
Thinking back to the 28th, Mike Bains said "it almost seems like something happened that night to cause such a severe reaction."
