A Surrey realtor's husband is in police custody after she was found dead in their home late Tuesday.
The body of Subalinie Ratnanesan, 50, was discovered when police responded to reports of an altercation in the house at 91A Avenue and 154th Street in Surrey around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Shortly after, her husband Sivapragasam Ratnanesan, 51, was taken away by ambulance.
He has since been released from hospital and is in the custody of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
Subalinie Ratnanesan is a newly accredited realtor with HomeLife in the Fleetwood neighbourhood.
A relative told Global News early Wednesday that the family is originally from Sri Lanka but has lived at the address for close to a decade.
He said he believed there had been some problems in the marriage, and that they have two children, one girl in high school and another at university in Edmonton.
Police are not releasing the cause of death or any other details about what happened at the home.
It remained taped off Wednesday as investigators gathered evidence.
